Learn from cutting-edge solutions that transform agriculture from a climate challenge into a powerful ally, reshaping social, economic, and environmental landscapes worldwide. Explore how integrated water management in agriculture is crucial for sustainability and reducing adverse impacts on communities. 

FAO is supporting the COP29 Presidency to drive transformative climate solutions through agrifood systems at which the COP29 Presidency with the support of FAO will launch the Baku Harmoniya Climate Initiative for Farmers.

Objectives:

  • How do we make our food systems resilient to the impacts from climate change? The Land and Water Division of FAO will lead a discussion and panel on the topic.
  • Part 1: Hosted in the Spain Pavilion, the discussion will focus on practical solutions for building resilient food systems, drawing from successful experiences in Spain, LATAM, and the Mediterranean region. The goal is to highlight regional strategies and best practices.
  • Part 2: A follow-up networking event at the Water Pavilion, where participants can engage informally over drinks, fostering connections among stakeholders.
