This session is intended to showcase ongoing work to incorporate water resilience into national climate planning instruments –including both water scarcity and flood resilience. Examples of systemic water resilience will be discussed and innovative tools and approaches, including the Water Resilience Tracker for National Climate Planning, will be shared.
Objectives:
- Highlight the importance of water resilience as a critical component of national climate planning, enhancing the systemic resilience of national climate strategies and commitments.
- Demonstrate how tools like the Water Resilience Tracker align with global climate goals by integrating water resilience into climate planning.
- Showcase successful projects and approaches to water resilience and how to scale them to meet national water and climate challenges.
- Promote the adoption of systemic approaches to climate resilience in the next round of NDCs and NAPs.
